Ford is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Bronco with an anniversary package.

The Bronco was the Detroit-area automaker’s first sports utility vehicle when it debuted in August 1965, and Ford says the company even coined the term for the segment that has come to dominate American roads.

Though it’s been since just 2021 that Ford introduced the Bronco after it discontinued it in 1996, it has enjoyed strong sales in a competitive segment.

It’s blending modern and vintage elements in the anniversary Bronco, with EcoBoost engines for power and fuel efficiency, and “1966” emblazoned on its wheels for the vehicle’s first production year, along with “bold” color accents and the familiar “bucking bronco” logo.

Some elements of the SUV are inspired by the vintage design, Ford says, including the grille and wheel styling.

Ford will make the anniversary-edition Bronco available for order in October.
